Sarah-Jane & Regan's Wedding at Pukehiki
I really love the rustic style of some weddings that I have seen over the years and was so thrilled to be the photographer for Sarah-Jane & Regan's gorgeous wedding day. Their wedding took place at Pukehiki Church out on the Otago Peninsula in Dunedin, NZ. This beautiful church was built in 1868 and overlooks the rolling green hills of the peninsula on one side and stunning Sandfly Bay on the other. Right across from the church is the Pukehiki Town Hall, a lovely old rustic building that has been home to many receptions I"d imagine. The day started out in the city as the bridesmaids got ready at the gorgeous Chapel apartments and the groomsmen were starting to sip some fine scotch at home as they do. ;) It was an overcast day but the temperature was mild. It was lovely to capture the excitement and the special moments throughout the morning. After leaving the girls to it, I made my way up to the house where the guys were getting ready. I made it just in time as they sipped their first drops of fine scotch and started to prepare themselves for the long, fun day ahead. We all began to make our way up to the church for the ceremony shortly after that. The drive up was stunning, the clouds had parted and there was just a foggy mist that had lingered along the Otago Peninsula giving everything an air of mystery and intrigue. The fog eventually dissipated in time for the photos after the ceremony and we were blessed with blue skies and gorgeous sunshine. It was a super fun day and very memorable, especially when we took the fancy cars out to Sandymount Road... It's such a magic place for photos. See for yourself:
